How We Work With Your Insurance (And What That Doesn't Mean)
How ClearShield handles glass claims and direct billing with all major insurers, what 'works with all major insurance companies' actually means, and why we never claim to be a preferred or endorsed provider.
When you call ClearShield, the question we hear most often after “how soon?” is some version of “do you take my insurance?” The short answer is yes, and the longer answer matters, because “working with” an insurer is not the same thing as being a “preferred” provider, and the difference is worth understanding before you file.
What “works with all major insurance companies” means here
We file claims, accept insurer-approved rates, and bill your carrier directly for jobs where comprehensive coverage applies. That includes the carriers most Florida drivers carry: State Farm, Progressive, GEICO, Allstate, USAA, Liberty Mutual, and the rest of the major writers.
What it does not mean is that any of those carriers has endorsed us, contracted us as a preferred shop, or promised us referrals. We are not a preferred or endorsed provider for any insurer. You are always free to choose who does the work, and we never represent ourselves as anything other than an independent mobile glass business that has opted into each carrier’s billing workflow.

How the actual claim works
When you reach out, we ask for your policy number and carrier. Before we book the job, we:
- Verify your comprehensive coverage and confirm whether windshield replacement qualifies for the Florida deductible waiver under Statute 627.7288
- Assist with opening the claim if you haven’t already filed
- Confirm your expected cost — including, where applicable, the $0 out-of-pocket figure on a qualifying windshield claim, subject to policy coverage and insurer confirmation
- Schedule the mobile visit at your home, workplace, or roadside across Southwest and Central Florida
When the work is done, we bill your carrier directly. For qualifying windshield claims, that means your out-of-pocket cost may be $0, subject to policy coverage and insurer confirmation. For standalone calibration or other glass services, the cost picture may be different, and we tell you the number before work begins.
You can choose your own shop
Florida Statute 626.9743 prohibits insurers from forcing you to use a specific repair location. Your carrier may suggest a shop from their network, but that is a recommendation, not a requirement. You can call us first, file the claim yourself and then ask for ClearShield, or have us open the claim on your behalf. Either way, you stay in control of who works on your vehicle.
Same-day answers, direct billing, no surprises
A few practical things that hold true whether your carrier is one of the big national names or a smaller regional writer:
- Quotes are honest. Cash prices depend on your vehicle, glass type, and whether ADAS calibration is needed. We tell you the number before we book.
- Billing is direct. For covered work, we invoice the insurer. You don’t pay us and wait for reimbursement.
- Coverage details are confirmed in advance. We don’t pull a windshield and then discover the policy has a glass endorsement that changes the math.

What hasn’t changed, and won’t
Our operating model hasn’t changed, and we don’t expect it to.
- OE glass stays the default. Original Equipment glass matches factory optical clarity, acoustic dampening, and the ADAS camera bracket. We quote it as standard, not as an upgrade.
- Calibration is coordinated with the glass. If your vehicle has a windshield camera, we coordinate static and dynamic recalibration alongside the replacement. Same-visit calibration may be available depending on your vehicle, scheduling, and required calibration conditions.
- The lifetime workmanship warranty still applies. Every install, insurance or cash, carries our warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.
- We’re still fully mobile. Mobile service is how we work, not an add-on. We come to your driveway, your office lot, or the roadside.
Carrying a smaller carrier or liability-only?
The direct-billing workflow works the same way with most carriers writing in Florida — we file the claim, confirm the deductible waiver where it applies, and invoice your insurer. If your carrier isn’t set up for direct billing, or you carry liability-only, we quote cash windshield replacement honestly, use the same glass, and back it with the same warranty.
How to book
Send us a photo of the damage plus your year, make, and model. We’ll confirm the right glass, verify your coverage, tell you your expected cost before anything is scheduled, and put a service van at whatever address your car is sitting at.
